Mencap Timber Decking

Mencap is the leading voice of learning disability. Everything they do is about valuing and supporting people with learning disabilities, their families and careers.

This deck structure was built for the residential care home, to allow the occupants who are wheelchair bound or suffer mental health problems, the opportunity to get outside with safe and easy access to the garden.

The deck and access ramps are built to Part M of the building regulations which are specific to disabled use such as Sheltered Housing, Retirement Villages and Specialist Care Complexes etc.

Mencap were delighted with the project and held an open day to publicise what can be done to enhance the outdoor space without using bricks and concrete, for handicapped and disabled people within the community.
