Main Categories > IPE Hardwood (Kiln-Dried)

Our Premium grade clear all heart Ipe (Hardwood) is additionally kiln-dried (not air-dried). This means that the timber goes through a longer more controlled process to bring the moisture content down to 12%, prior to machining. The advantages of Kiln drying before machining, as opposed to the usual machining then stacking to air dry naturally outdoors are:
· Enhances the deep rich colour of the Ipe.
· Eliminates planning skip & jump (surface damage) due to the higher moisture content present when machined.
· Additional stability for extreme climate changes.
The advantages of pre-grooved sides to take the ipe clips means that no screws will be present on the surface.
The end result is the highest quality product available in the UK for those seeking the best materials in the market today.
